Introduction of ZUST

Zhejiang University of Science and Technology (ZUST) is a multi-disciplinary university with emphasis on engineering, incorporating disciplines in science, arts, economics, management, and education. Combining the technical know-how of German Applied Science Universities with its own experience, ZUST explores ways of cultivating international specialists with applied skills.

Zhejiang University of Science and Technology has two campuses, Xiaoheshan Campus and Anji Campus. Xiaoheshan Campus is located in the historical and picturesque city of Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang Province, one of the most prosperous provinces in China.Situated at the foot of Xiaohe Mountain, it has a tranquil lake inside and rolling hills surrounding the campus, only twenty-minute ride from the most famous scenic spot in China--West Lake. Anji Campus is situated in Anji County, which has won the United Nationas' Habitat Scroll of Honor Award.

At Present, there are a total of more than 21000 full-time students enrolled at ZUST. Among its over 1300 faculty members, over 340 members have title of professor and associate professor. It has 13 schools and offers 54 undergraduate programs and 6 graduate programs (master’s degree) across a wide range of fields. Furthermore, ZUST has 3 state-level key majors, 9 provincial-level key majors, 3 provincial-level key labs and 8 provincial-level key disciplines.

ZUST is designated by the Chinese Government as a pilot institution of Chinese-German cooperation in cultivating high-level career-focused talents, the standing organizer of “Chinese-German Education Forum”, and one of the first ten local pilot universities of implementing the national project of “Cultivating Excellent Engineers”. The development of ZUST is closely associated with its international cooperation. ZUST, since its foundation, has entered into cooperation with Germany, and now it’s an important platform for education and technology cooperation between Zhejiang Province and Germany. Up today, ZUST has successfully established formal cooperation with over 83 universities in Germany, USA, Italy, UK, Australia, France, Japan, Korea, Holland, Belgium, Romania, etc.. ZUST is still making strides in the development of international cooperation in the areas of faculty and student exchange, research and degree programs. Many honored guests and professors visited ZUST and worked here, including the former German President Roman Herzog and Christian Wulff.
At present, ZUST has been running 10 English-taught undergraduate programs and 11 English-taught postgraduate programs. Meanwhile, ZUST provides a master's degree program of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (MTCSOL), a bachelor’s degree program of Business Chinese for Chinese language beginners, and is ready to receive transfer students with Chinese language basic. With the further development of international cooperation and the establishment of distinctive undergraduate and postgraduate majors, the number of international students is increasing significantly. Now more than 1700 international students from 104 countries are studying on the campus

1Application Fee:

RMB400 Yuan

2Books and Learning Materials:

It will depend on the real price of books delivered (about RMB 300-600 Yuan per semester).

3Accommodation:

On-campus Single Room: RMB 1200 Yuan/month (1-student shared), including water bill and internet bill. Electricity bills should be paid by the student themselves On-campus Double Room: RMB 600 Yuan/month/person (2-student shared), including water bill and internet bill. Electricity bills should be paid by students themselves.

Off-campus Single Room: RMB 800 Yuan/month (1-student shared), including water bill. Electricity bills and Internet bill should be paid by the student themselves.

Off-campus Double Room: RMB 400 Yuan/month/person (2-student shared), including water bill. Electricity bills and Internet bill should be paid by students themselves. Accommodation fee includes water bill and internet bill, but excludes electricity bill. Once the students decided to live in the dormitory, he or she should live at least one semester. Students should pay accommodation fees for at least 5 months when they register.

Room Deposit: RMB 1000 Yuan. It will be returned if all equipment is in good condition when students check out.

Room Contents: Each room contains a bed, wardrobe, desk, chair, bookshelf, air conditioner, heater, and shower. A public washing machine room and public kitchen is available for student use in the dormitory.

4Insurance Fee:

RMB 400 Yuan for half an academic year or 800 Yuan for a full academic year; all students are required to purchase insurance.
